Community Mobile Clinics

This Community Mobile Clinics deliver community-based health screenings and tailored health education in partnership with District Health Directorates to augment access to essential health services, working with volunteer health personnel. We work with community health workers, aiming to enhance access to primary healthcare (PHC). These programs employ preventive care strategies, including health education sessions delivered in local dialects to overcome language barriers. Our services encompass health screening programs that measure vital signs such as blood pressure, heart rate, dental screenings, clinical breast exams, and STI testing. By collaborating with local partner organizations, we amplify the impact and reach of these programs, ultimately improving the health outcomes for the communities we serve.

Community Canvas Project

This is a community intervention model rooted in art and human-centered design. FHL Group Africa collaborates with artists and youth advocates, utilizing their expertise in art and advocacy to support and accelerate efforts in engaging young people for social and behavioral change. Through the Community Canvas Project, we employ murals as a powerful tool to visually communicate and draw public attention to the crucial issues of reproductive health, female and adolescent empowerment, highlighting the social problems that arise from their neglect. By fostering community support, we aim to bring an end to these issues and empower young individuals through artistic expression and capacity-building sessions

My Mentor My Pal

My Mentor, My Pal is a year-long mentorship initiative in collaboration with My Teen Life that empowers senior high school girls by connecting them with relatable young professionals across diverse fields. The programme combines a structured pen-pal mentorship model with in-person and virtual engagements, alongside capacity-building sessions in reproductive health, gender equality, social justice, leadership, and career development. By creating safe, supportive spaces for learning, dialogue, and guidance, My Mentor, My Pal addresses critical mentorship and information gaps in under-resourced communities, equipping girls with the confidence, knowledge, and skills to make informed life choices and pursue their aspirations.

Art For Brest Cancer

The Art for Breast Cancer (ABC) Initiative is a creative fundraising and public education campaign that harnesses the transformative power of art to support breast cancer care and awareness in Ghana. Through a month-long exhibition, the initiative brings together artists, patients, healthcare advocates, and the wider community to collectively address the urgent need for improved resources and early detection education. The exhibition features a diverse range of artworks that explore themes of resilience, hope, healing, and womanhood, creating a powerful platform for storytelling and advocacy. Complementing the physical exhibition is an online engagement platform https://abc.fhlgroupafrica.org , allowing supporters from across Ghana and the diaspora to view, purchase, and support the cause regardless of location

Amplifying Voices

Amplifying Voices is an inclusive advocacy initiative in partnership with Community Desk International (CDI) that centers the lived experiences of young people with disabilities in Ghana to inform intersectional, youth-led policies and programs through human-centered design and storytelling. This initiative seeks to transform the way programs and policies are designed and implemented for young people living with disabilities in Ghana. We recognize the failure of current approaches to addressing the intersectionality of this group, often treating them as a homogenous entity; we aim thus to build a culture of sustained, meaningful youth engagement. By centering the voices of young people with disabilities, we will challenge systemic exclusion and ensure their diverse experiences shape the policies and programs that affect their lives.

Pad A Girl

Menstruation is still plagued by myths, misunderstandings, socio-cultural limitations, and the financial burden of menstrual products. The ‘Pad A Girl’ initiative aims to empower young girls in underserved communities by providing them with accurate menstrual hygiene information and sustainable menstruation products. By doing so, we strive to reduce the need for teenage girls to engage in transactional sex to afford sanitary products during their periods. As part of the Menstrual Health Coalition Ghana, we also advocate for the elimination of tariffs on menstrual products, making them more accessible to teenage girls.

YOGEP – Youth & Girls Empowerment Project

At YOGEP, our primary objective is to empower vulnerable youth, especially teen mothers, by equipping them with valuable skills for enhanced economic independence. We strive to expand their skill sets and provide opportunities for them to establish their own businesses. Additionally, we offer comprehensive reproductive health education, enabling informed life decisions and fostering financial autonomy. Our aim is to empower young individuals to take charge of their lives and create a brighter future.
